Bio:

Michael has been practicing as a solicitor since 2008. His particular focus at CBM Lawyers is in the areas of Business Law and Real Estate Law. 

Langley is Michael’s hometown and has been Michael’s home most of his life. Michael obtained his Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of the Fraser Valley (2002) and obtained his Bachelor of Laws, with Distinction, degree from the University of Saskatchewan (2007). Michael was called to the British Columbia bar in 2008. Michael has previously practiced in Kamloops, Langley and the Tri-Cities and was excited to be back practicing in Langley after joining CBM Lawyers in March 2021. 

Michael practices with the CBM Lawyers Business Law team and with the Real Estate Law team. With respect to Business Law, Michael assists clients with corporate commercial matters such as incorporations, reorganizations, shareholder agreements, leases, corporate records, commercial borrowing, and purchases and sales of businesses. With respect to Real Estate Law, Michael assists clients with residential and commercial purchases and sales, mortgages (for both borrower and lender clients), and development matters such as covenants, easements as well as subdivisions. Michael also has experience assisting clients with estate planning and estate administration matters. 

Michael is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and of the Canadian Bar Association (BC Branch). 

When not in the office Michael enjoys travelling, especially through Canada, having visited all the provinces and Yukon, and is more than a little interested in hockey. In particular Michael has had the joy and privilege through his collecting hobby to have met dozens of hockey hall-of-famers including Maurice Richard, Gordie Howe, Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy and Wayne Gretzky.
