If a loved one has been killed as a result of someone else’s fault, you may have cause to pursue a wrongful death claim. By definition, a wrongful death is when someone is killed due to the misconduct or negligence of another party. Such actions can be brought against an individual, a company or a government. A wrongful death claim is a civil action, meaning that apart from any criminal action that might be taken, this claim is generally for monetary retribution and compensation.

A wrongful death claim may be your primary method of obtaining the financial compensation you need and deserve in order to mitigate the loss of an important family provider. Compensation would attempt to make up for the financial contributions that family member would likely have provided if they had not died.

Wrongful death could result from a car accident or accidents that don’t involve a motor vehicle.

A wrongful death claim is sometimes the only way to ensure that the appropriate party or parties acknowledge their actions (or lack of actions) that led to the death of your loved one.
