When dealing with clients who were involved in a car accident, there are 3 common questions I am asked about.
- Fees – Many potential clients often want to know how much it will cost them to retain a personal injury lawyer. The fact is that most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee basis meaning that they get paid a percentage of what they recover for you. This means that your lawyer doesn’t get paid unless you get paid.
- Trial – Many clients ask whether hiring a lawyer means that their case will go to trial. Hiring a lawyer does not guarantee that you’ll have to go through the process of a trial. In fact, the majority of cases will settle long before a trial and your lawyer will be able to help ensure you receive a fair settlement.
- How much is a claim worth – Potential clients will often want to know how much their claim is worth. The truth is that this question cannot be answered early in the process as it would just be a guess. In the early stages of a claim, there are too many unknown variables. The question cannot be answered with any certainty until a client has fully recovered from their injuries or a doctor has said that they have reached their maximum level of medical improvement.
Although there are many other questions involved when dealing with car accidents these are the most frequent. For more information please contact us.
