Jon joined CBM Lawyers in 2014 after spending ten years practicing in Downtown Vancouver at a national law firm. At the time. With two young daughters at home, Jon decided to build his practice closer to his community, allowing him to balance a demanding legal career with family life. Since joining CBM, Jon has become a trusted and respected member of the firm, known for his thoughtful approach, commitment to clients, and steady leadership.
About Jon Goheen:
Jon’s legal career is shaped by a deep appreciation for the evolving nature of the law and a strong commitment to professional development. He values the continuous learning that comes with legal practice and brings a thoughtful, analytical approach to his work - qualities that have contributed to his growth at CBM Lawyers and his appointment to the partnership.
After completing degrees in Mathematics and Music, Jon earned his Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia and has since continued to expand his practice at CBM, playing an important role in the firm’s development during a period of growth.
Jon is an active member of the legal community. He is a member of the Canadian Bar Association and has been a member of the New Westminster Bar Association. In addition, Jon had contributed to the profession through published articles and case commentaries in the areas of real estate litigation, defamation, and intellectual property law.
Beyond his legal practice, Jon has been actively involved in the local soccer community and spent many years coaching both of his daughters’ teams. Known around the office for his signature bow ties - adopted during his 40th year - Jon brings both professionalism and personality to the firm. His appointment to the partnership reflects both his individual contributions and CBM Lawyers’ continued focus on long-term leadership and growth.
